Uganda’s Health Information and Digital Health Strategic Plan sets the national direction for integrating data and digital technologies into the health system.
Developed by the Ministry of Health, the Strategic Plan lays out how health information systems and digital technologies should be strengthened and integrated across Uganda’s health system. It analyses the current landscape, identifies gaps, and sets priorities for investment and coordination.
Ambitious digital health plans depend on governance to succeed. As systems collect more sensitive information, the plan’s goals must be matched by strong data protection, clear accountability, and the meaningful participation of communities and health workers.
Digital progress is only meaningful when it is inclusive, rights-based, and accountable to the people it serves.
ADiJUST engages with national strategy through research, advocacy, and capacity strengthening, helping ensure that digital health in Uganda advances the right to health while safeguarding privacy and dignity.
